Morehouse Glee Club
The Morehouse Glee Club from Georgia was here in Washington DC on Friday for two different performances. The Glee Club consists of over 40 young men that sings concerts in many different cities and states. Some of the songs they sang were: Giving, Seek ye First, Alleluia, I am his child, and Betelehemu ( sung in Yoruba). At the end of the program the glee club and all the alumni's sang the Morehouse College Hymn. The Glee club was celebrating 100 years of musical legacy throughout the 2011 calender year. It has continued in this tradition through the dedication and commitment of its members and the leadership that their directors provided throughout the years. The current members come from all over the United States and from places around the world. While many are music majors, the singers come from majors in all divisions of the college. The Glee Club sings all types of music such as: Classical, Spirituals, Gospel, and traditional African music. If you find out they are scheduled to do a concert in your area, make plans to hear them. It would be a concert that you wouldn't forget.
